Abstract

A compressible conductive packing for insertion between the joint faces of a pair of conductors, comprises either a cylindrical length of braided or otherwise interwoven stranded wires wound to form a flat spiral or a plurality of such lengths laid side-by-side and joined at their ends, holes being provided in the packings for the reception of connecting volts. Long strands of braid may be connected by transverse lines of adhesive or solder at intervals and stored in a roll, individual packings being obtained by cutting through the solder/adhesive.
